Sinning and Being Unfaithful
1 min read
The LORD said to Moses: “If anyone sins and acts unfaithfully toward the LORD, and denies to his fellow man what was entrusted to him. (Leviticus 6:1-2)
If someone entrusts us with fifty dollars, we will probably be faithful. But if we are entrusted with fifty cents, we will probably not be so honest; because the amount is small, we will not consider it important. Even so, such behavior will wrong others, and it will cause us to lose our fellowship with God. If we are asked to carry a letter, we cannot actually open it and read its contents, yet we may want to check it from the outside. Now to glance at it unintentionally is not a problem, but it would be wrong if we hope to probe into other people’s secrets. Such deeds can hinder our living and keep us from having intimate fellowship with God. I fear that many do not study the Bible well because such sins are not dealt with. If we are unfaithful and do not deal with it, we may lose the freedom of fellowship with God that is so important to maintain.
